2 Week Checkup
Stats:
2 Weeks old
9 pounds, 5 ounces (75th %ile)
22 3/4 inches (98th %ile) - I think the length measurements are a bit off because the pen they use to mark the paper is about a 1/4" thick!
Head: 14 inches (40th %ile)

"Overdue" Update (40W, 4D)
My estimated due date was August 11, 2009. The average length of gestation is 40 weeks, however, a pregnancy is considered full-term if birth falls between 37 to 42 weeks of the estimated due date. A baby is not considered "overdue" until 42 weeks. Apparently as many as half of babies will go past their due dates.
I have a non-stress test and biophysical profile scheduled for this Monday, August 17. If the results are good, the midwives will likely let me go up to 42 weeks, but if the results show that the outside world would be a more favorable environment for the baby then we will have to talk about an induction.
I know this little girl will arrive when she is healthy and fully ready.

40 Week Update
How far along? 40 weeks and no baby in sight!
Total weight gain/loss: As of Thursday afternoon, up ANOTHER 3 pounds since last week. The swelling has got to stop at some point.
Stretch marks? Not yet!
Sleep: I'm up almost every hour on the hour.
Best moment this week: Getting closer to meeting our baby.
Movement: It feels like she's wiggling down.
Food cravings: Oatmeal raisin cookies. Chocolate.
Gender: Still a girl!
Labor Signs: It's personal.
Belly Button in or out? Still looks like a Cheerio.
What I miss: My feet and wearing normal shoes.
What I am looking forward to: Meeting our baby!
Weekly Wisdom: Remember that an estimated due date is just that - an estimate!
Milestones: Going past my due date. I didn't think I would :(

39 Week Update
How far along? 39 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: As of Friday, 8/7, I gained three pounds since last week. It all seems to be water-weight from fluid retention. If I go by what I think I started at, then I have gained 40 pounds! If I go by what the doctor's office says I started at, I have gained 35 pounds. Either way, it's the upper end of the recommended gain ... oops!
Stretch marks? Not yet!
Sleep: If I make myself stay up late, I am likely to sleep better.
Best moment this week: Finding out that I've made some progress - I'm now 2, almost 3 centimeters dilated! The little one is estimated to be at 7.5 pounds!
Movement: She's running out of room!
Food cravings: Spinach and artichoke dip (I'll be making it on Wednesday). Pancakes.
Gender: Still a girl!
Labor Signs: Some BH contractions. Maybe ... ?
Belly Button in or out? Still looks like a Cheerio.
What I miss: Cooler weather!
What I am looking forward to: Meeting our baby!
Weekly Wisdom: Do not try to do yard-work or you will fall in the grass like I just did!
Milestones: TBD

Nursery Pictures
The nursery is as finished as it's going to get before this baby makes her debut. I still need to get curtains (I have now purchased and returned two sets). It took me three tries to find a rug that I'm happy with. I also have some artwork and a decal to put on the walls.
This is the chiffarobe that my mom refinished. It was hers when she was a child, then it was mine. It was dark brown. I asked her to paint it with the colors we used on the walls - first pink, then cream over it and distress it with sandpaper. It turned out great!
Would you believe that the changing table and crib are not even from the same brand? I think I really lucked out to find one that matches the crib so well!
This is Domo. Don't let his looks fool you, he's very sweet!
And here's a reminder of what the room used to look like ...
